About Clayborn Group
Richard Clayborn, PE. received his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville in 2001, after working with his families construction business, and began his career as a project engineer in Indianapolis, IN working for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) inspecting road and bridge construction in the Greenfield District which includes the Indianapolis, IN area.
After 14 years and rising through the ranks with INDOT he left his Area Engineer position, to become a full-time engineering consultant. Licensed as a private pilot Richard has been awarded aviation design and inspection work. With his INDOT experience he has consulted cities, counties, and even INDOT. From his family construction background he routinely creates permit drawings for remodel and new construction residential and commercial projects.
Today Clayborn Group continues to grow and because of Richard’s efforts. His services range from Property Searching, Purchasing, Development, Design, Permitting, Construction Management, and even CNC Cabinet Manufacturing.
Richard currently holds Professional Engineer licenses in Indiana, Kentucky. He is a FAA licensed Private Pilot, Indiana Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, INDOT SiteManager Certified.

Inspected roads, bridges, signals, sidewalks, and served as a project engineer on many projects including the I-70 added travel lanes and I-70 and Mt. Comfort Road interchange.

Developed staffing analysis models for 130 employees on nearly $1B of construction work, wrote software to reduce OH costs and improve efficiency, served as SiteManager trainer.
